Passive Voice

PASSIVE VOICE : grammatical construction which is the subject of sentence denotes the recipient of the action rather than the performer

# Active Sentence : when the subject is doing the action and the object is receiving the action.
# Passive Sentence : when the subject is receiving the action and the object is doing the action.

Passive voice in some tenses

1)Simple Present Tense -> used for tell a habitual
Formula :
Active = S + V₁ + s/es +O
Passive = S + am/is/are + V₃+ by + O
Example :
Active = He meets them everyday
Passive = They are met by him everyday

2)Simple Past Tense -> used for tell the past event that finished at the past time
Formula :
Active = S + V₂ +O
Passive = S + was/were + V₃ + by + O
Example :
Active = He met them yesterday
Passive = They were met by him yesterday

3)Simple Future Tense -> used for tell activity that will happen at the future time
Formula :
Active = S + will + V₁ + O
Passive = S + will + be + V₃ + by + O
Example :
Active = He will meet them tomorrow
Passive = They will be met by him tomorrow

4)Present Perfect Tense -> used for tell a repeating activity
Formula :
Active = S + has/have + V₃ + O
Passive = S + has/have + been + V₃ + by + O
Example :
Active = He has met them
Passive = They have been met by him

5)Past Perfect Tense -> used for tell the event finished before the other past event
Formula :
Active = S + had + V₃ +O
Passive = S + had + been + V₃ + by + O
Example :
Active = He had met them before I came
Passive = They had met by him before I came

6)Present Continous Tense -> used for tell the event that happening now
Formula :
Active = S + am/is/are + Ving + O
Passive = S + am/is/are + being + V₃ + by + O
Example :
Active = He is meeting them now
Passive = They are being met by him now


7)Past Continous Tense -> used for tell the past event that was happen at the past time
Formula :
Active = S + was/were + Ving + O
Passive = S + was/were + being + V₃ + by + O
Example :
Active = He was meeting them
Passive = They were being met by him

Rules changing active sentences into passive sentences:
1. The object of active sentence becomes the subject in passive sentence.
2. Verb in passive sentence is (to be + past participle)
